Visit a Pumpkin Patch
With Halloween soon upon us, there is nothing more fun than visiting a pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins to carve. Plus, with all of the exciting activities and attractions that the pumpkin patches in Kansas City have to offer, you’ll be able to walk away with more than just a pumpkin.
At the Kansas City Pumpkin Patch, for example, there is fun for all ages to enjoy. With a winery and cidery on the farm grounds, adults who come to visit the patch will have the opportunity to enjoy some delicious wines from the on-site vineyards, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t just as much fun for the kids.
Along with the pumpkin patch itself, Kansas City Pumpkin Patch offers attractions for all ages of children to enjoy, like slides, play places, zip lines, and more. It really is a fun time for the whole family!
Sip on Some Apple Cider at a Cider Mill
One of the best parts of fall is being able to enjoy delicious, warm, spiced apple cider. The smell of the spices permeates through wherever it’s being made, filling you with a warmth that can’t be better described than “fall”.
The Louisburg Cider Mill right outside of Kansas City boasts the incredibly popular Ciderfest that draws a massive crowd every year. Not only will you be able to drink delicious cider, but you’ll be surrounded by the gorgeous colors of changing leaves all around you.
In 2022, the Louisburg Cider Mill will be hosting the 44th Annual Ciderfest at the end of September, so if that’s something you’re interested in checking out, be sure to take a look at their website for more information!
Get Your Scare on at a Haunted House
For those who love horror movies, and even those who don’t, haunted houses are a fun and exciting way to spend some time with friends in the fall when it starts to get cool outside again. There’s nothing quite like running for your life through a maze of darkened rooms, but having an incredible time while doing it!
If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, Kansas City’s The Beast is a four-story minefield of terror. This behemoth of a haunted house offers a wide variety of terrifying scenes and historical events to make your way through, like Jack the Ripper’s London and a creepy medieval castle.
The best part is that from our Westwood apartments, The Beast is only about ten minutes away! It’s easy to get your scare on with friends but make a hasty retreat at the end of the night when you’re worried about things that go bump in the night.
Go to a Football Game
What better way to really get into the spirit of fall than going to a football game? Home to the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City truly knows how to get into the spirit of football season.
From our Westwood apartments, the Chiefs Stadium is only about twenty minutes away by car, which makes our apartment complex a great meetup spot before and after the game. Get together with friends or family before the big game in the comfort of your apartment with snacks, drinks, and fun! And, when you’re ready, pile up into the car and make your way to the stadium to watch the Chiefs play in all their glory. A short trek back to your Westwood apartment (after the Chiefs win, of course!), and that’s a great fall afternoon in the books!
Go Back in Time at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival
If you’re a fan of renaissance festivals, then you’re in luck this fall with the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. Starting in September, you can take a trip back in time with the 45 years of tradition that the renaissance festival brings.
From jousting to all the festival food you can eat, to games and rides and vendors, there’s something for everyone at the renaissance festival. Plus, if you love fashion and costuming, this is the perfect way to let your creativity flow! Grab a group of friends to create themed costumes and really party like it’s 1599.
The best part? When you’re done living it up like you would in the olden days, simply make your way out of the fairgrounds and back to your nearby Westwood apartment. There, you can continue to enjoy all of the modern day creature comforts that you love so much with a fonder appreciation after having spent the day without them.
